This will be the last updated on the storm before it get here. I will try and update this as the storm moves through but TV will take top priority. There is a lot going on here and I will try and put as much here as I have time this morning.
First of all lets start with the winter Storm Warning (in pink) and the Winter Storm Watch (in blue) Blizzard Watch (in green). The watch and warning is in effect for this evening through Sunday evening. This storm is going to be a prolonged event. There are going to be many aspects to this storm.

I will continue to show the GFS model run since I have been using that so far this week just for consistancy sake. Below is the map for Saturday moring. At this time freezing rain/sleet/snow should be falling and the wind 20-30 mph.
Below is the Saturday evening map. The transition from the wintry mix to snow is expected to occur during the afternoon hours. This will have an impact on how much snow accumulates. The earlier it changes over to snow the less ice but the more snow. If it changes over later than less snow but more ice. Pick your poison.
Now as we transition into all snow Saturday afternoon...the snow will continue Saturday night and Sunday. By the way, the map below is for Sunday morning. The snow maybe heavy at times Saturday night and Sunday morning tapering to light snow by Sunday evening. The snow will be a wet snow, not like the last snow storms we have had this winter.
So what is the storms path going to be? Good quesiton. At this point it looks like it is going to take the path of the map below. If there is any deviation to the path the amounts of precipitiation snow will need to be adjusted.

This amount of moisture in this storm is still pretty impressive and with a bullseye over Iowa. This amount is all precipitation that falls and melted down to liquid.
As of this morning the snow amounts expected, on top of ice, will range from 2" to 12"+. Below is the break down of who may get what.
Now will all of this in mind. The only thing to do now is sit back and see what happens.

My poison is less ice, more snow. That would be great if we got 12 inches of snow.
Jenny said: I'm 43 yrs old. The last time I recall having a storm like this I was probably 11 or 12.We lost power for 2 days, slept in our living room because we had a fire place. I remembered we played a lot of board and card games. We also helped take food out to farmers who needed the basic on our snowmobile. As a kid we enjoyed it. Jenny
