Too Much Traffic
Due to the large number of incoming calls, Iowa’s road condition phone lines are not functioning normally. Iowa Department of Transportation of Transportation officials say both 511 and 800-288-1047 are receiving so many calls the system is operating, but callers may experience delays and may have to call several times to gather information. If its an emergency, take it slow. The road crews have done a great job working hard to clear the hard tops, but the gravel is still a mess. I went from CF to Dysart and back. The trip took twice as long and in some places it was a complete white out but I made it. If you drive smartly you can get where you need to go, but always listen to Schnack. When he says keep off the roads, you probably should.
