The weather will be very pleasant today with sunshine, a light breeze and temperatures wamer than yesterday. There are some changes coming tomorrow with clouds and moisture.

12z GFS 36 hr SFC Forecast

The morning appears to be dry with rain/snow to our west. Snow advisory is already in effect for parts of South Dakota. The snow chances will be close to Iowa Tuesday. The first dashed blue line next to the red dashed line (540) is a rough indicator of the rain snow line.

00z GFS 48 hr SFC Forecast

Scattered showers move into eastern Iowa in the afternoon. There is slight chance of a light snow shower getting mixed in with the rain but no travel problems will be expected. Areas to our north in Minnesota have the best chance of any accumulating snow on Tuesday.

24 hr Day 2 QPF (7AM Tue-7AM Wed)

The amount of moisture with this system is light. Amounts of .50" to .75" liquid anticipated during the above time frame. Areas in Minnesota will have this moisture in the form of snow.

HPC Snow Accumulation Day 2 Probability of at Least 4" of Snow

The colder air will remain north as the moisture moves through the Midwest as winter just doesn't want to go away. A pretty good chance of 4"+ of snow possible across central Minnesota.
