We finally started the morning off with some sunshine. The first time we have seen it in almost a week. The sun will be a dominate weather feature through early next week.
4 AM Surface Map
There is a weak trof of low pressure to the our west which will stir up some clouds and spotty showers later today. As the trof moves through eastern Iowa (tonight) the showers will have lost the heating of the day and dissipate.

It is nice to see the forecast maps with no precip on them for the first time in almost a week.

The trof of low pressure, in the upper levels of the atmosphere, will still be over the Midwest today keeping a few clouds around. Notice the progression of the trof eastward...as a ridge of high pressure parks itself in the western half of the nation. This means a very pleasant weekend with sunshine and temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
