I have a MoonMaggy and it tells all about the different moons and the dates. There are evidently 2 definitions for a Blue Moon. The original refers to the 3rd full moon within a season. The full moon in teh last complete month of day of the season was dubbed a Blue Moon by a New England farmer's almanac in the early 1900's. Thus, Feb, May, Aug. and Nov. are the only months in which we could have 1 of these "extra" seasonal full moons. Using this definition , the full moon of May 19-20 2008 is the next Blue Moon since there are 4 full moons in the period between the March 20th equinox and the June 21st solstice. Also, the next Blue Moon after May 31 will be Aug. 2009.
