Clouds in eastern Iowa are clearing from west to east. There may be a few clouds developing this afternoon but, overall it should be a nice day. More showers/thunderstorms are back in the picture for tomorrow afternoon.
500 mb and Water Vapor Satellie
A large area of low pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere (centered over the Dakotas) will be slow to move. The low will keep keep the chances of showers/
thunderstorms in the forecast through the weekend. It will not rain every hour of every day but, rain is possible at some point each day through early next weekend.
Rainfall Forecast 7 AM Fri - 7 AM Sat
The next round of rain could bring us another .50 to 1.50" across Iowa. The eastern counties could still handle some more rain. Central and eastern Iowa would like to have more dry weather right now than rain.

which do you think whould be worse, too much rain or not enough?
i like it when it rains at night. listening to it hit the windows puts me to sleep.
it's really horrible when it's hot and dry.
