The warm temperatures have melted a lot of snow over the past few days and and helped boost our spirits about spring being 26 days away. It has also helped the rivers to rise. The pending weekend storm will have a lot of moisture associated with it. The amount of precipitation may cause some flooding problems. Below is a map from the North Central River Forecast Center. The map below the latest forecast on the amount of precipitation possible from the weekend storm (Thu AM to Tue AM). Keep in mind some of this amount will be in the form of snow and that would need to be melted down. The timing on when the changeover will occur and exact track of the low will determine the amount and where the heavier snow will fall.
