Iowa State Patrol says Highway 218 is closed from Highway 9 to Floyd because of 30 power lines over the highway
Highway 20 is closed in the area of the Independence MHI exit and Dunkerton exit because of downed power lines.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department is asking the public to limit unnecessary travel today, and to use extreme caution if the must go out.
Iowa State Patrol says travel not recommended for north central and northeast Iowa. This includes areas along and north of Highway 20. The patrol will respond to accidents but your car will stay where it is.
