Just got a report from Mitchell County emergency manager. Reported 22 power poles down 4 miles east of Osage in Mitchell County.
The lastest position of the storm is still in roughly central Kansas. As the storm gets closer the Iowa the wind will increase. As the temperatures cool in the mid levels the mixed precipitation of freezing rain/sleet/snow will change over to all snow. The time appears to be around 5-8 pm. At this point the snow will become heavy and blizzard or near blizzard conditions can be expected after 8 or 9 PM and continue through the night.
