Yesterday, ahead of a cold front, thunderstorms produced hail across Iowa. Most of the reports were in western Iowa. The map above shows storm reports from the Storm Prediction Center (SPC). For a detailed information on the reports click here.
Everyone saw rain yesterday/last night. Some more than others. The map above shows the radar estimate. Below are some of the rain totals ending at midnight.

0.62" Dubuque
0.36" Iowa City
0.14" Waterloo
The cold front is now to our east. Ahead of the front it is warm with temperatures in the 60s (red numbers). Behind the front it is cooler and less humid. The dew point temperatures (green numbers) are lower in around the area of high pressure. This high has provided a very pleasant morning with abundant sunshine. The front in Missouri and Kansas will stall as the northern part of the front will progress east today. High pressure will move east into the Great Lakes by this evening. The stationary front will be the focus for some showers/thunderstorms. The front will drift north tonight with some weather weather.
